On a sunny day, among the hills of Lake Iseo, came to life the Ca’ d’Or project, born from the encounter between two friends, representing respectively a noble historic winery of Franciacorta and a family of professionals, active in marketing and in creativity.
Ca’ d’Or is a distinctive sign that is able to combine history, quality and creativity. As evidence of these three qualities, a precious mask is decorated on our bottles, bringing us back to the Venetian origin of the brand.
A long history marked in relief on the glass of Ca’ d’Or bottles.
The Decordi Winery was established in 1921 as a family-run tavern, where the traditional wines and foods of the Cremonese lower-Padana Region were served. In those days, the area had a strong viticultural inclination and, in the original winery, Quirico Decordi Senior was producing kegs of local red wines, including Fortana, Ancelotta & Lambrusco. These were the ideal companions to the traditional gastronomy, and were greatly appreciated with every serving. This success inspired the Decordi family to take a greater interest in wine-making, to the point that the founders, in addition to continuing with the wine-blending process, also began an artisan wine-production business, which included the cultivation of local grapes and the sale of both draft and bottled wines.
In 2012 the farm Grimolizzi, dating from early 800, decided to enter in another field. After purchasing the vineyard, make a second purchase: a cellar dug in natural tufa caves. This second purchase involves the decision not want to sell the product obtained from the vine, but rather to transform it. The decision to undertake this journey, comes from the passion for healthy things and the desire to convey the genuineness in quality products. The company's mission stems from the continuing and ever higher the Made in Italy brand envied around the world. The key issue is the discovery, or rather, the rediscovery of the genuine and how important in an era so highly influenced by globalization, bring back the tradition of companies who have lived and shaped the history of Italy. It is no coincidence that the choice of product has fallen on a single line of wine: Aglianico del Vulture.
The Cellar Il Passo is named after the first land you meet when you come to the company: an olive grove dubbed "Il Passo", considered by Grimolizzi family the place of departure from which extends throughout the company toward the hill. The name of the wine "Alberi in Piano" is inspired by the company's origins, when founder Francesco Grimolizzi decided to buy the farm that was and still is called "Contrada Alberi in Piano."
